30.07.2025 | Join statement from the creative sector voicing deep concerns about the implementation of the AI Act

EUROCINEMA joins the statement from the creative sector voicing deep concerns about the implementation of the AI Act.

We wish to formally express our dissatisfaction with the published GPAI Code of Practice, the GPAI Guidelines, and the Template for disclosure of a sufficiently detailed summary of training data under Article 53 of the EU AI Act.

The mechanisms intended to ensure greater transparency for rights holders are failing to meet one of the Act’s core objectives: ensuring compliance with EU copyright and neighbouring rights legislation.

Throughout the process, we have consistently provided the European Commission with regular, reliable and precise feedback. Despite this, our concerns have not been adequately addressed.

The companies we represent are alarmed that a few major global GenAI companies are stealing our intellectual property outright, creating an environment of unfair competition for the creative industries.
